On September 15, 2021, LIFE Connect Ricotí was officially launched, an ambitious project to improve the Iberian populations of the Ricotí lark.

It will last for just over 5 years, until December 2026, and will take place in Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha and Catalonia.

Its objective is to improve the connectivity of the ricoti skylark populations through actions to improve the habitat and the translocation of individuals.

Participating in the project are the Terrestrial Ecology Group of the Autonomous University of Madrid, which acts as coordinator, the Junta de Castilla y León, the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla La-Mancha, the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Fundación Patrimonio Natural de Castilla y León , the Forestry Science and Technology Center of Catalonia, Forestal Catalana SA and Innomaker Innovation and Development S.L.
