Translocations are one of the most complex conservation tools developed by the LIFE Connect Ricotí project. They involve capturing Dupont’s lark individuals from populations in good conservation status and moving them to areas where the species is extinct or at serious risk of disappearing, with the aim of reinforcing or recovering those populations.

In this video report we show how the entire process is carried out: from the capture of individuals in the source populations to their marking with colour rings and VHF radio transmitters, and their subsequent release at the destination sites. A meticulous, demanding and fascinating process, carried out by qualified personnel with all the necessary permits and authorisations.
